Editor’s Note: We are not members of, or endorsed by, the Tea Party. The following column is calling gun owners to action in a similar style that the Tea Party had with their rallies in 2010. It also calls on the Tea Party to hold rallies for gun rights, alongside the average gun owner.
The Summer of 2010 was a major time of activity for the Conservative Right in America. Obamacare sparked massive rallies across the country and ultimately the taking of the House of Representatives away from the Democrats. We need them again, in 2013, for the same principles they stood for in 2010: The United States Constitution.
The Second Amendment is an Amendment that most Tea Party members along with mainstream Republicans hold very dear to their hearts because it was made not to give us the right to hunt, but the right to arm and protect ourselves from the tyranny that this country once knew before gaining independence.
Our Founders believed that if the Colonists were all armed, as opposed to just 3% after the British began confiscating muskets, the Revolution would have been brief. It would have been won before the British could even resupply its forces on the continent. That belief helped shape the 2nd Amendment as it stands today, because they who wrote it witnessed the actions of a government that chose to disarm its people.
If, not 300 years later, this government decided to disarm us, where would we be if overnight we found ourselves living in a dictatorship as many democracies in history have seen? The 2nd Amendment is our right to bear arms and protect ourselves from not only the common criminal, but from a criminal regime that we have fortunately not seen in this country since its founding.
Every Constitutional Conservative needs to be prepared to rally once again in support of our Rights. This government wants a database of who owns what, and that is something we should oppose. The government has no right to know who has an AR-15 or anything for that matter because those who own them do so to be able to defend themselves from any threat. If the government became tyrannical and had such a list, it could move quickly through drones and other means to neutralize all it perceived as threats to its existence.
There are phone calls being made to Congress and protests scheduled, but its not enough. We need every member of the Tea Party who is reading this to forward it along to their local organizers. Tea Party Rallies need to come back to remind this government that we do vote, and if they do anything against our 2nd Amendment Rights they will face a backlash in 2014 and 2016, and for as long as it takes for their criminal laws to be overturned.
Schedule protest rallies, rise once more to relevance in this country in defense of our gun rights. Together, as citizens with common beliefs in the sanctity of our Constitution, we can and will prevail in this fight for our rights. With the government coming for the 2nd Amendment, what is to stop them from coming for the rest of our Amendments? In a nation with laws such as NDAA, what protection are we left with from an over-intrusive power that may not yet be in office?
Supporting gun rights is supporting the Constitution. That is the key fact here, and that key fact needs to be known by everybody, including the detractors of the 2nd Amendment. It’s not up to the government to regulate our magazine sizes, or what cosmetic appearances our rifles may have. The musket was the assault rifle of their day, and when they wrote the 2nd Amendment they knew weapons would only get better, just as they already were during their own lifetimes.
It’s up to us as Americans to realize our Constitution is what’s really under attack with this President’s agenda, and with a gun supporting movement as large as the 2010 Tea Party on our side, we can move quickly to stop this and further assaults on our liberties as united patriots. Our very liberty is at stake here, and it’s time we take our stand.

Aslong as they keep tearing at our hearts through the media, and focusing on the evils of guns they think we won’t focus on the failed justice system system and the rising debt in this country. Two words “They Thought”
Guns has been around for years and we want them to stay around I hunt and want to keep what I worked hard to get guns don’t kill people people kills people and it’s not right to take guns from us honest people. How many people have been killed with knives but I never heard anyone saying anything about taking knives from people Help keep our guns thanks
I am a hunter to and I have all my guns register with my city/state..I am the innocent one I do everything by the book legally. .leave us alone who do the right thing with firearms..I to work hard and enjoy hunting with my son and family and friends. God bless and leave us innocent hunters alone!! Go after the bad guy not the hard working guy who does things by the book !!!!
Nobody should have to register their guns. Registration is unconstitutional and is the first step to confiscation.
There were 36000+ people killed in automobiles last year in this country so are they going to put there brilliant minds to work and ban automobiles????
