I was watching a speech given to a Connecticut gun task force where a father was speaking. This father lost a son who was killed in the sandy hook shooting. Once again something that may seem completely normal to us it being made out to be vigilante justice. Defending ones self, especially in ones home should never be viewed as weird or even worth mentioning because this should be an unalienable right of all citizens of this great country.
This is something which should be dealt with but it always accepted. How can we have double standards in this country …
I have been harping on this point over and over again with friends and co-workers and clearly one of our nation’s forefathers thought the same way. I believe this quote is extremely relevant in today’s society even though the quote itself it quote old.

I wanted to write an article about this but found this instead. Who really want to read when you can sit back and listen.
When talking with co-workers one effective solution I always bring to the table is to have a greater public understanding of firearms and therefore respect instead of fear. I believe this is one solution which is viable due to low cost and ease of the public accepting it.
